THE SOUTH AFRICAN BOERBOEL
In the 20th century, the Boerboel nearly went extinct; however, they were revived, and are steadily gaining in worldwide popularity, and for good reason; these dogs are the only South African dogs that are bred specifically for their protective tendencies.
Boerboels maintain these qualities without the aggression usually associated with protectiveness. This makes them perfect for a family home – they are excellent with children and make the perfect family dog.

How did you get into breeding?
Have you met Minzi?
Probably not but you have seen her – she’s the face of SATA Kennels. Sara started her research on Boerboels 6 years ago and found Minzi. Minzi’s temperament, love for children, loyalty, and personality were enough to ignite the passion you see today. It took Tammy exactly one paw shake and a sloppy lick of the cheek to feel the same way Sara does.
We realized that the skills we hold together materialize into high quality puppies that are prepped for wonderful homes. Our focus is Boerboels and little breed dogs.
Minzi is unfortunately not able to breed, which is why we have made it our mission to find and breed dogs similar to her for us to share with you.
What Makes our breeding program special?
We are very selective in our sires and dams. We make sure that they are healthy with a good temperament. During pregnancy, we prioritize mom’s health and focus on ensuring all necessary mom + baby nutrients are provided for ideal growth.
Our homes have ample space for exercise and we properly socialize all of our animals to humans of all ages and a variety of animals. We understand that socialization at a young age lays the foundation for good habits in the future.
SATA Kennels is located in a small town so we have access to a vet 24/7. This is a priority for us as we need mom and the puppies to have routine care before they find their forever home.
We are in the business of breeding so that you can experience what we have – loving pets that are loyal, fun to be around, unique, and a part of the family.
